East Gippsland Brass Big Band

East Gippsland Brass Big Band has been around since 2008 and has appeared at Merimbula Jazz Festival every year since then as well as many other festivals and local events.

The morphing of a brass band into a big band format has been due to the work of their MD Kees Dogger who has developed an arranging style that encompasses many of the genres currently used by traditional big bands to produce a unique style and sound utilising a predominantly brass lineup.

As a local brass band it carries out the normal rolls of parades, fetes etcetera but the members do enjoy the chance to play in big band format as a change from traditional brass banding.

The Big Band performs from Trad  to Frisco and rock style and features various solo instruments and vocals.
